I have encountered many difficult situations throughout my life but the hardest experience I have ever faced was at the age of five. My family and I arrived to America for the first time in search of a better education, future and overall life quality, even if it was by doing the hard and back-breaking work. Throughout the years my parents have done an amazing job supporting, encouraging and motivating me. Despite of all the bumpy road I've been through, I am very happy with the results. I recently graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a concentration in Spanish. Currently I am in the journey of graduate school and I couldn't have made a better decision. I am in the Masters Program for School Counseling and my biggest aspiration is to help the Spanish-speaking community become successful with their education. This career makes me feel extremely happy and satisfied knowing that children and their families will be able to benefit from my services. The fact that there are many kids that are struggling to adjust to school because of major life changes and emotional difficulties makes them at higher risk of academic failure and this is my motivation to make a difference.
