Growing up in Mexico was a good experience, but also a challenge, because I learned the value of money, hard work, and education. I had my family, friends, and the freedom to go anywhere without having to worry about my future, because unfortunately it was already set for me. However, my parents wanted more for us so they decided it was best for the family to move to California with my father. That's when my life changed completely and I had options in my life. Entering a new school and learning a new language when I was eight and not knowing anyone was scary. I struggled to learn how to write and speak English I felt dumb and uncertain of myself, because of my accent. It took me over four years to learn English, but little by little I conquered my challenges. My goal is to take all the required classes I need to get me to become an Agriculture Teacher and have a career in animal biology. My motivation to do my best comes from being encouraged by my parents and teachers who believed in me. I have learned how to adapt into a new environment, be responsible for my actions, learn how to speak and write English. The options that I have now are more than I could ever dream of and are all possible thanks to my hard work, and most importantly the support of my family. I am a good investment because I am a hard worker, a dedicated person, and I take education seriously. I want to be able to help others just like other people have an are helping me reach my goals.
