My Name is Dulce Maria Martinez I am 20 years old competitive girl born in Irapuato Guanajuato, Mexico. I was raised in Mexico for 9 years and in 2004 my family and I came to the United States hoping to have a better future. When I first arrived to the United States I had many struggles throughout my life. An obstacle that I faced was speaking a new language and moving to different schools, due to my parent's place of work. After overcoming my struggles and never giving up, I am now a College Assistant Migrant Program (Camp) student at Fresno State University. Moving away from my family was a new challenge, but in doing so I learned how to be an independent and responsible student. My family is my motivation to continue my education and pursue a major in Pre Medicine.
