I was born into a migrant farm-working family in Colusa, a rural town, in northern California. I spent my new-born days in the Williams Migrant Center located in Colusa County. For a great portion of my childhood, I transitioned from migrant housing centers until I was 10 years old. I came to be enrolled close to ten elementary schools, including in Mexico. I finally settled in Salinas, California after cyclically migrating transnationally to Mexico. Once in Salinas, I graduated in the top 6% of my class and went directly to a public four-year university, University of California, Davis. Here at UCD, I have found my passion in Latina/o and Chicana/o mental health and have planned to pursue a mental health practitioner profession. I have developed my skills and experience by working as a research assistant gathering and inputting data from focus groups. Additionally, I continue working with the migrant student population as the Preschool Bilingual Education Technician in an under-served elementary school in San Benito County. I am an investment for empowering Latina/o and Chicana/o cultural and bilingual mental health with an emphasis in migrant farm-working populations. I am currently saving for grad school and will continue my path to higher education once I have reached my grad school fund goal. My career goal is to become a School Counselor and/or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
