My name is Juan Mendoza. I was born in South Central Los Angles, but moved due to the high amount of criminal activity to the small community of Hanford. Life was hard growing up. At an early age, I found out that nothing is given--it's earned. At the age of 13 I started working in the fields to help around the house. While working in the fields, in the summer over spring break, and during winter break, I found out the field wasn't a joke. It is a lot of hard work. I harvested a variety of fruit and vegetables such as table grapes, fuzzy peaches, nectarines and plums. I am a hard working individual with high goals and standards. I maintain very good grades in school. I am a active member of FFA for the past 4 years, Key Club for 3 years, Octagon for 2 years, and NJROTC for 1 year. I volunteer a lot of my time at my local church, FFA, and Key Club. I'm senior at Hanford West High School and plan to attended College of the Sequoias in Hanford to get my associates degree to become a future CHP.
