I grew up in a Northern Michigan farming community. My grandparents and mother were migrant farm workers who traveled from Texas every year. They worked seasonally at farms picking different fruits and vegetables including cherries, apples, plums, peaches, strawberries and tomatoes. Eventually they were able to maintain year-round jobs and buy a small house. When I was able to I also worked alongside my family in the farms but realized early on that the key to my goals was to get a great education. I am now attending Michigan State University double majoring in Finance and Economics with a minor in International Business. I am planning on going into investments after graduation and eventually continuing to pursue an MBA and CFA. This summer I will be interning with JP Morgan Chase and I have previous intern experience with Merrill Lynch and an engineering firm. I am a strong believer in remembering where you come from and I will always keep it close to me. I not only want to be successful and achieve my goals for myself but also for those around me including family, to show that it is possible and also to lend a hand.
