My mother and father have been working in agriculture ever since they came to the United States. We stay in the Salinas Valley, the Salad bowl of the world so we know good produce. My father worked cutting iceberg lettuce for over 20 years. He is now a truck driver, and transports produce all over California and Arizona. My mother is also very hard working and she works in the romaine lettuce packaging it. She is in charge of labels and closing the boxes insuring quality for the customers. I worked in the fields this passed summer and I was in charge of weed control. I learned a lot about time managment, responsibility, and just how hard it truly is to be a farm worker.
