I was born and raised in Fresno, California. Growing up as a typical Hmong girl, there were many disadvantages and hardships I encountered. With a workaholic father, absent mother and opium addicted grandmother, it was difficult to find inspiration and motivation. However, my parents' lack of educational support and acknowledgement encouraged me to pursue a higher education. I became self-motivated and determined to improve my skills to enrich my life for now and the future. I am currently attending California State University of Fresno, majoring in Public Health and minoring in Spanish. I am passionate about helping others and interacting with diverse cultures. I have the ability to read, write and speak in three different languages: Hmong, English, and Spanish. I am great at managing time and multitasking. Through my cultural, educational, and personal life experiences, I have learned to "live for today, remember yesterday, and plan for tomorrow" (Panda Express Fortune Cookie).
