I was raised in the small agricultural town of Gridley,CA with my younger brother, mother and father. From a young age my parents instilled in me a passion for learning and encouraged me to aspire to receive for a college education. I worked diligently, night and day and I now attend UC Berkeley as a Business Administration major with in minor in Public Policy. My goal is to obtain experience in advocacy, public service and leadership.I want to better influence policy and other decision-making that directly affects low-income, underrepresented people of color. I am currently working as an Academic Mentor for at-risk youth to ensure students have the necessary tools to succeed and have easy access to mentorship, support, and guidance-critical pillars that have helped me navigate to the higher education system. I strongly believe education is the single most valuable tool for individual and social change. This past summer at worked at Facebook in Menlo Park, helping to make the world more open and connected.
