College Student

I am a daughter of two farmworkers living the life of hard work, devotion and hope. I was born and raised in California with my proud Mexican blood and culture running through my veins. Growing up in a community where the majority are immigrants, Hispanics and Latinos, I witnessed first hand the challenges they faced in their daily life. As the third child, having two older siblings as well as a younger one, I got to experience the blessing of having someone to look up to while having someone looking up to me. Family struggles have made me who I am today and with support and faith I have accomplished being a second year Philosophy and Criminology major at California State University-Fresno. Through CAMP (College Assistance Migrant Program), I opened doors to an incredible life changing internship with SAF (Student Action with Farmworkers). Gaining knowledge and resources of the farm working community laws I am now seeing many opportunities and new goals for my role in the movement. A day at a time is my motto and as I thrive to succeed in my own ambitions, I fight to see justice and hope in others dreams
