I recently decided to go back to school to pursue my MBA with a concentration in Human Resources, I love the idea of higher education and even though it is challenging for me because I have a family to support I know I am investing my children's future as my parents invested to ensure I received an education and live a more comfortable life with better opportunities. I am currently a Human Resources Supervisor for the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel in Schaumburg IL . My undergraduate degree is in Hospitality Business from Michigan State University and I was very fortunate to be able to get a job offer in my field right out of college. I was a part of the Voyage program previously Management Development Program for Marriott International. I was the first HR Voyager, as they call us in the country when the new revamped program launched which in a short period of time has offered me a world of opportunities to grow and develop as a young professional. I currently reside in Chicago IL, along with my husband and my 2 year old son. Going back to school was a tough decision to make because I don't have the family support in Chicago; my parents reside in Texas and my in-laws reside in Ohio which makes it really difficult and expensive to raise a child with limited help, as a professional and now as a full time graduate student. I decided to take the chance and work through those challenges a semester at a time. I believe in starting something with the purpose of finishing and finishing strong. I took my first graduate class this summer and I am very proud to have worked for and earned a 4.0.
